Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are academic discounts available?
A: Yes, students and educators are eligible to receive discounts of up to 80% on Rhino through our academic pricing. Learn how to verify your educational status here.

Q: Is it possible to share a Rhino license across multiple users or devices?
A: Yes. Rhino commercial licenses can be managed efficiently via the Cloud Zoo or a local Zoo server.

How this works:

  • The license is stored centrally on a server.
  • When Rhino is launched, the license is temporarily “checked out.”
  • Upon closing the software, the license is returned to the server.

This system enables a team to share a single license, provided only one user operates Rhino at a time. It is ideal for teams whose members do not require simultaneous access.

Q: Can Rhino use dynamic blocks like AutoCAD?
A: Not directly. Rhino doesn’t support dynamic grips or visibility states, but similar control can be achieved using standard blocks, Rhino’s History feature, and the free BlockEdit+ plugin. View our AutoCAD to Rhino 3D transition guide here.

Q: What is Rhino’s History feature?
A: History links certain commands (like Extrude or Mirror) to their inputs. When you change the original curves, the result updates automatically.

Q: Can I create parametric components in Rhino?
A: Yes. Rhino includes Grasshopper, a powerful visual programming tool for creating fully parametric models like windows, furniture, or fittings. You can control dimensions using sliders or logic-based rules. If you're new to Grasshopper, training is available — contact.

Q: Where can I get assistance if I have questions?
A: Our support team is available daily from 09:00 to 20:00 GMT. Please do not hesitate to contact us; we are happy to assist.
