Common questions

Is a Rhino licence a subscription or a one-off payment?

One-off. This is a perpetual licence: there is no recurring charge, and it keeps working on the release it covers. Future major-version upgrades are optional purchases.

How is the licence delivered?

By email, normally within minutes of ordering during working hours. There is nothing to ship: the licence key and activation instructions arrive by email.

Can the licence be used on more than one computer?

A licence is either locked to a single computer or shared through McNeel's Cloud Zoo, which lets the licence holder sign in on any computer they use. Studios and teams pool seats through Cloud Zoo Teams.

Does the licence include training and support?

Level 1 and Level 2 PDF guides are included, along with email support.

Is VAT included in the price?

Both figures are shown on the page. UK VAT is charged at the standard rate of 20%, and a VAT invoice is issued with every order.

Equip your organisation with Rhino 3D for up to 10 simultaneous users through a perpetual commercial licence pool. The full NURBS, mesh and SubD modelling toolset and Grasshopper are available on Windows and Mac, giving your team both direct and parametric approaches to developing geometry.

Rhino’s SubD tools let you shape smooth, organic forms and convert them to NURBS when you need that geometry for subsequent CAD work. This is particularly useful when a design combines freeform surfaces with precise engineering requirements, such as a hull form, enclosure or architectural component. Grasshopper, included with Rhino, is a visual algorithm editor for building parametric relationships and exploring variations without writing code. File exchange supports collaboration with other design and fabrication tools, with STEP and IGES for engineering geometry and DWG and DXF for 2D drawing workflows.

RhinoAI connects compatible AI assistants to your Rhino and Grasshopper document, giving you another way to create and modify geometry, automate repetitive tasks and develop scripts or parametric definitions through natural-language instructions. It complements the modelling tools, with editable geometry that you can inspect and refine yourself. A compatible AI assistant must be configured separately.

Shared access is managed through a Cloud Zoo Team, so the pool is sized for 10 people working at the same time. Your key also gives access to earlier Rhino versions and is emailed automatically within minutes of checkout.
