How to Register Your Licence

Activate Your Rhino 3D License

Thank you for choosing Rhino 3D. Depending on your setup and workflow, you can activate your license in one of three ways:

Option 1: Cloud Zoo – Flexible Online Licensing (Recommended)

Cloud Zoo manages your license online, providing access from any device with an internet connection.

  • Flexibility: Use Rhino across multiple computers.
  • Ease of Use: No need to re-enter license keys after sign-in.
  • Collaboration: Share licenses securely with team members.
Setup Steps
  1. Create an account at accounts.rhino3d.com
  2. Add your license under the Licenses tab.
  3. Start Rhino and sign in using your Rhino account email address.

Option 2: LAN Zoo – Centralised Network Licensing

Ideal for organisations managing multiple Rhino licenses across a local network.

Setup Steps
  1. Download the Zoo server from wiki.mcneel.com/zoo/home
  2. Add your license keys to the server.
  3. Configure each Rhino installation to connect to the local server.

Option 3: Single Computer – Dedicated Offline Licensing

Suitable for users who only need Rhino 3D installed on one specific machine.

Setup Steps
  1. Install Rhino 8.
  2. Enter your license key when prompted.
  3. Follow the on-screen activation process.

Upgrading Your License

  • Export Validation: Upgrade licenses require the license key from a previous Rhino version during activation.
  • Legacy Access: Previous Rhino versions remain usable on the same machine after upgrading.
  • Lost Keys or Email Access: Please contact licensing@mcneel.com with your details.
